Privacy Policy

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how CalPicture handles information when you use the iPhone app and this website. It does not change the privacy terms that apply to Apple Health, the App Store, or an AI provider when their services are used.

2. Information kept on your device

CalPicture stores the meal records you create, including meal names, selected images, dates, servings, nutrition estimates, display images, goals, and settings on your device. The app does not currently provide iCloud or CloudKit syncing for those records.

If you allow notifications, the app can also keep device-local reminder preferences. You can remove meal records in the app and change app permissions in iOS Settings.

3. Information sent for AI features

A photo, food description, or editing instruction is sent only when you choose an AI action, such as food analysis, AI colour grading, or AI retouch. For that request, the selected input travels through CalPicture’s Cloudflare service to the configured AI provider. The original photo remains the source used for nutrition analysis, even if you create an edited display image.

CalPicture does not use your meal photos, food descriptions, or editing instructions to build CalPicture’s own training dataset. The configured AI provider may process the request under its own applicable terms, including measures for safety, abuse prevention, and legal compliance.

4. Service, security, and purchase information

To authorize AI allowances and credits, maintain service security, and understand feature use, CalPicture may send a pseudonymous installation identifier, app version, platform information, feature-event metadata, and device-integrity proof. The backend stores a hash of the installation identifier for analytics; the app’s product analytics do not include meal photos or prompt text.

Subscriptions and consumable-credit purchases are processed by Apple. CalPicture receives the transaction and product status needed to provide the purchase. We do not receive your full Apple payment-card details.

5. Apple Health

Only after you grant permission, CalPicture can read resting energy, active energy, and workout records from Apple Health. If you choose to export a saved meal, CalPicture can write its nutrition values to Apple Health. When you delete or update an exported meal, the app makes a best-effort attempt to remove the related Health samples it created.

Apple Health information is used to show your chosen daily energy context. You can revoke read or write permission in the Health app or iOS Settings at any time.

6. AI-generated website imagery

Unless a page says otherwise, lifestyle and portrait imagery on this website is AI-generated illustrative content. The people and scenes are fictional. They are not CalPicture users, customer testimonials, endorsers, or records of real challenges or events. Any resemblance to an identifiable person is unintentional.

This disclosure does not replace consent or a model release if CalPicture later uses a real person or a real person’s likeness. In that case, the relevant page will be updated to identify the image appropriately.

7. Retention, deletion, and your choices

You can delete device-local meal records in the app, revoke Camera, Photos, Health, and notification permissions in iOS Settings, and manage subscriptions through your Apple Account. Server-side security, entitlement, purchase, and analytics records are retained only for the operational, fraud-prevention, accounting, or legal purpose for which they are kept.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to ask about, access, correct, or delete personal information. Contact us so we can verify the request and explain what we can do under applicable law.

8. Changes and contact
