Terms of Use

The terms for using CalPicture’s photography, AI, nutrition-recording, Health, subscription, and credit features.

Effective 26 August 2026 · Please read these terms before using the app.

The short version

CalPicture helps you record meals; it does not provide medical advice or a diagnosis.

AI results, portion estimates, and energy values can be wrong and should be reviewed before relying on them.

Subscriptions and credits are offered through Apple, with current details shown in the app before purchase.

1. Agreement and Apple’s EULA

These Terms of Use apply to your use of CalPicture. The app is also licensed to you under Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. If there is a conflict concerning Apple’s platform or your Apple Account, Apple’s applicable terms control.

2. What CalPicture is—and is not

CalPicture lets you photograph or import meals, edit food images, request AI-assisted analysis, record meals, and optionally view Apple Health energy and workout information in the same daily view. It is a personal tracking tool, not a medical device, medical service, dietitian, or emergency service.

Nutrition, portion, calorie, macro, energy-balance, trend, and projected-change values are estimates. They are not a diagnosis, treatment recommendation, or guarantee of any health outcome. Do not use CalPicture as the only basis for medical, nutrition, pregnancy, allergy, eating-disorder, medication, or exercise decisions. Seek a qualified professional when appropriate.

3. Your photos, instructions, and AI results

You are responsible for the photos, descriptions, and instructions you submit. Do not submit content that you do not have the right to use, or use AI features to create unlawful, deceptive, or harmful material. You keep your rights in the content you submit, subject to the limited processing needed to provide the feature you requested.

AI features may fail, be unavailable, or produce inaccurate or unsuitable results. Review food names, portions, and nutrition estimates before saving or sharing them. AI photo tools are intended to preserve food identity, portion cues, and recognisability; the original image remains the analysis source.

4. Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional. You control it through the Health app and iOS Settings. If you choose to export meal nutrition to Apple Health, you are responsible for reviewing the information before it is written. CalPicture makes a best-effort attempt to remove samples it created when the corresponding meal is deleted or changed, but you should verify important changes in Apple Health.

5. Subscriptions, allowances, and credits

CalPicture may offer automatically renewing monthly or annual subscriptions, feature allowances, and consumable credits through Apple. Current products, localized prices, renewal terms, and purchase details are shown in the app before you buy. There is currently no free trial.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple Account settings. Included image and text AI allowances have their own usage periods. When an allowance is exceeded, an eligible AI request may require credits; the applicable credit cost is shown in the app. Apple handles billing, cancellations, and refunds under its policies.

6. Acceptable use

Do not interfere with the app, circumvent quotas, credits, purchase checks, or device-security measures, reverse engineer the service except where law permits, or use the service to infringe others’ rights. We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or our legal obligations.

7. Availability and changes

Features depend on your device, iOS, Apple services, network access, and third-party providers. We may update, suspend, or remove a feature when needed for safety, legal compliance, maintenance, or product development. We do not promise that every feature or AI result will always be available or error-free.

8. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, CalPicture is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not make guarantees about the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated results, nutrition estimates, Apple Health information, or edited images. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

9. Changes and contact

We may revise these Terms when the app or legal requirements change. We will post the revised effective date here. For questions about these Terms or the app, email support@calpicture.com.
